The Associated Students of the University of California, San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego student body. The AS Office of Food and Housing Resources strives to build awareness and education about food and housing resources available for students, along with the following priorities:

Effectively work throughout the year to fight food and housing insecurity at UC San Diego
Working with cross-campus resources to promote awareness of resources students have access to on campus
Address accessibility concerns regarding basic needs resources, with an emphasis on food and housing insecurity, raised by students
The Director of Housing Security's responsibilities:
Promote and create resources surrounding housing at UCSD alongside Student Legal Services, HDH, Homelessness Hub, etc.
Plan projects to increase accessibility and awareness of resources that combat housing instability across campus.
Assess where housing insecurity is most prominent among the campus population.
Work closely with cross-campus resources and committees to address housing insecurity at UC San Diego through events, workshops, and resource development.
Regularly attend weekly staff meetings and one-on-ones with Office Leads.
Research beneficial housing policies off-campus in the City of San Diego and mobilize students to lobby/provide public comment at City Council surrounding these housing policies
