Thank you for your interest in the Student Sustainability Collective! The Collective is dedicated to providing resources, support, and a space to foster a culture of environmental and social justice in the UCSD community. Our advocacy and activism surround 7 key campaigns to address campus and community issues concerning sustainability and the climate crisis. We have 5 other supporting roles that handle the SSC's organization, logistics, and communication. Our physical space is located in the Sustainability Resource Center.

The SSC envisions a socio-economically just world of healthy environments sustained through individuals and communities equitably sharing resources, responsibilities, and power.

The SSC Coordinator Position is designed to develop student leaders passionate about creating a more sustainable world through hosting a large student-focused event in conjunction with the Center for Student Involvement and AS Environmental Justice Affairs. You will gain invaluable experience through community organizing, research, networking, teamwork, and communication. If you apply and are accepted, you will plan the annual Earth Day Festival, which occurs the week of April 22nd,  working through the end of April. The SSC Coordinator must attend weekly staff meetings in the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters and meet with collaborating parties. The coordinator will also be expected to participate in a mandatory Fall Retreat in early October. The estimated weekly time commitment will be 5-7 hours weekly.
