Pay rate: $70/week

Job Description: 

  • Shall serve as a co-board member to the University of California Student Association (UCSA) and sit on the Campus Action Committee (*This will require traveling at least once a month, usually Friday through Sunday)
  • Shall oversee grassroots organizing efforts within on-campus organizations relating to the University of California Student Association Campaign Goals
  • Shall expand the presence of the Office of the Executive Vice President for External Affairs through on-campus outreach to cultivate a diversified group of student leaders.
  • Shall carry out the campaigns voted upon at the UC Student Association and oversee campaign coordinators
  • Shall fulfill additional UCSA campaign work may include, but is not limited to attending weekly Campus Action Committee meetings on Zoom, office staff meetings, rally planning, organizing travel arrangements, writing Op-eds, tabling, facilitating meetings, organizing teach-ins/webinars/phone-banking events, stepping in for campaign coordinators, meeting with different on-campus and off-campus organizations, and other organizing work
  • Shall oversee the five coordinators handling the five UCSA campaigns on campus
  • Shall take on additional responsibilities as requested by the Executive Vice President for External Affairs

Job Location: 

In-Person (UCSD Main Campus)

Qualifications: 

  • You must plan to be a full-time registered student at UC San Diego for the 2026 - 2027 academic year and be available on campus.
  • Must be available to travel across the state to fulfill the responsibilities as a board member of the UC Student Association.
  • The ability to lead and supervise a group of staff members
  • Problem-solving and conflict-management skills 
  • Experience in grassroots organizing with an emphasis on BIPOIC communities.

Hours per week: 15-20

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • You must plan to be a full-time registered student at UC San Diego for the 2026 - 2027 academic year and be available on campus.
  • Be able to attend UCSA Orientation virtually (TBD) and In Person at UCSD on July 17th-19th. Must attend the Student Organizing Summit July 31st - August 2nd.
