Job Description: 

  • Assist the Executive Vice President for External Affairs in day-to-day office operations. 
  • Chair Office Staff Meetings in the absence of the Executive Vice President for External Affairs
  • Constantly be up to date with UCSD, ASUCSD, and UCSA issues by properly delegating these items, updating the office calendars, and relaying information to the EVP of External Affairs
  • Be an alternate board member to the University of California Student Association Board if the Executive Vice President for External Affairs, Campus Organizing Directors, or Legislative Directors cannot attend
  • Assist the Executive Vice President for External Affairs in communications with all UC External Affairs Representatives, UC Regents, selected members of the California Legislature, US Congress, and other necessary persons
  • Manage all office logistical information, including but not limited to: Travel Accommodations for the office and organization of all conferences, workshops, and events hosted by the office, UCSA, and/or USSA including professional development workshops.  
  • Coordinate weekly senior staff meetings, weekly one-on-one meetings with the Executive Vice President for External Affairs, and bi-weekly all-staff meetings.
  • Complete any other responsibilities assigned by the Executive Vice President for External Affairs.
  • Oversee the planning of the conference and travel conducted by the office over the academic year
  • Oversee Administrative Aids of the Office with the help of the Executive Vice President for External Affairs and the Communications Director

Job Location: 

In-Person (UCSD Main Campus)

Qualifications: 

  • You must plan to be a full-time registered student at UC San Diego for the 2026 - 2027 academic year and be available on campus.
  • Experience planning large people trips and understanding of University travel policy. 
  • The ability to lead and supervise a group of staff members
  • Problem-solving and conflict-management skills 
  • Programming experience and understanding of campus EMS and TAP systems.
     

Hours per week: 15-20

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • You must plan to be a full-time registered student at UC San Diego for the 2026 - 2027 academic year and be available on campus.
  • Be able to attend UCSA Orientation virtually (TBD) and In Person at UCSD on July 17th-19th.
