About the AS Office of the Executive Vice President and Senate
The Office of the Executive Vice President (EVP) is the central hub of legislative operations within the Associated Students of UC San Diego. While the EVP presides over the Senate and manages its 29 elected senators and seven executive officers, the office itself is supported by a dedicated team of staffers who ensure that the Senate functions smoothly and effectively as the legislative branch of ASUCSD.

The Legislative Branch of the Associated Students, known as the Senate, is responsible for establishing the policies of the Association. The Senate is composed of elected and appointed student representatives who serve as the voice of the undergraduate student body. Senators work to open lines of communication between students, the administration, and the greater community. They are proactive in addressing student needs, and they play a vital role in providing and facilitating services and resources that enhance the UC San Diego experience.
