About the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs
The Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs is the center of academic advocacy within the Associated Students of UC San Diego. Led by the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, the office works to ensure student voices are represented in decisions around curriculum, advising, faculty relations, and academic policy.
Staff members support this mission by serving as liaisons between students, faculty, and administrators, addressing academic concerns, and promoting resources that enhance student learning. The office’s directors and coordinators manage internal operations, build external partnerships, and advance projects that improve the academic experience for all undergraduates.
By working in the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, students gain hands-on experience in academic advocacy, project management, and outreach while developing professional skills in communication, leadership, and collaboration. Together, the team fosters a supportive and effective academic environment that empowers students and strengthens their success at UC San Diego.
Multimedia Coordinator
Compensation: $60/week for 25 weeks
Hours: Approximately 10-15 hours per week
Position Description
The Multimedia Coordinator is responsible for managing the visual and digital communications for the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs. This includes designing graphics, coordinating social media strategy, and producing content that highlights the office’s advocacy efforts, initiatives, and events. The Multimedia Coordinator plays a key role in shaping the office’s public-facing identity and ensuring that academic resources and opportunities are effectively communicated to students.
The Multimedia Coordinator works closely with the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Associate Vice President of Internal Affairs, Director of External Affairs, and Directors of Academic Divisions to support office-wide campaigns and outreach.
Responsibilities

Design graphics and promotional materials for academic campaigns, events, and resources

Manage and develop content for the office’s social media accounts

Work with the team to create a consistent and engaging visual brand for the office

Assist in planning and executing digital outreach strategies to reach diverse student audiences

Support internal and external communication efforts through visual storytelling

Help document and share the office’s impact through photos, videos, infographics, and other media

Collaborate with the Associated Students communications team and other AS offices as needed

Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all media materials produced
