  • Deputy Federal and State Legislative Director

Pay rate: $60/week

Job Description: 

  • Assist Legislative Director with legislative research and prioritization, state and federal respectively
  • Help with external communications to congressmembers, state senators and assembly members
  • Provide guidance to TLC members and assist with lobby days
  • Engage in UCSD organization activities and collaborate with cultural organizations
  • Assist with campaign research and create biweekly updates on targeted bills 
  • Attend mandatory weekly meetings with the LD
  • Keep constant contact with external organizations and UCSD 

Job Location: In-Person (UCSD Main Campus)

Qualifications: 

  • You must plan to be a full-time registered student at UC San Diego for the 2025 - 2026 academic year and be available on campus.
  • Experience planning large people trips and understanding of University travel policy. 
  • The ability to lead and supervise a group of staff members
  • Problem-solving and conflict-management skills

Hours per week: 15-20

  • You must plan to be a full-time registered student at UC San Diego for the 2025 - 2026 academic year and be available on campus.
  • The Legislative Director should have exceptional leadership skills, be comfortable in lobby meetings, and have a solid understanding of state and federal legislative processes.
