UC We Vote Description: UCweVote was established for the purpose of increasing the legislative power of the association and its constituents through organizing non-partisan student voter registration, education, and turnout efforts for every state and federal election on UC campuses.

2025-2026 Campaign Goal: One Voice is Not Enough

Job Description: 

  • UCWEVOTE Coordinator
    • Communicating to campaign vice chairs at least twice a month & keeping campus campaigns accountable. (Responsibilities and times may vary)
    • Keep track of commitments made during meetings and follow up with folks who made commitments.
    • Keep contact with the External Organizing Director and have good communication regarding boundaries and responsibilities.
    • Shall work with campus organizations to develop coalition building and solidarity efforts with campus organizations
    • Fulfill some additional UCSA campaign work may include, but is not limited to attending weekly Campus Action Committee meetings on Zoom, office staff meetings, rally planning, organizing travel arrangements, writing Op-eds, tabling, facilitating meetings, organizing teach-ins/webinars/phone-banking events, stepping in for campaign coordinators, meeting with different on-campus and off-campus organizations, and other organizing work
    • Shall take on additional responsibilities as requested by the Vice President of External Affairs and External Organizing Director
  • Serve as the student liaison to the Tritons Vote Initiative with the Vice President of External Affairs to ensure student voices are being heard in the development of student engagement efforts process
  • Develop events and campaigns in conjunction with campus partners, student organizations, and other organizations to ensure students turn out to elections and are aware of the importance of voting 
  • Work with the voter engagement representatives for each college council
  • Work to meet the UC We Vote Campaign campaign goal
  • Develop events to engage the campus community civically 
  • Fulfill any other responsibility assigned by the VP External and Internal Organizing Director
  • Work with relevant campus administration to ensure a unified campus message and strategy for civic engagement
  • Attend bi weekly staff meeting and report on campus and UCSA civic engagement efforts 

Job Location: 

In-Person (UCSD Main Campus)

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in civic engagement preferred, but not required (i.e. experience with existing vote coalitions or voter registration organizations)

Hours per week: 15 - 20

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • You must plan to be a full-time registered student at UC San Diego for the 2025 - 2026 academic year and be available on campus.
