Description of the Office of the Vice-President of External Affairs:
The Associated Students of the University of California, San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego student body. The ASUCSD works to promote student engagement through its services and leadership opportunities. The ASUCSD seeks to foster a cohesive community through active interaction and communication with students, the administration, and the greater San Diego Community. Our mission is to facilitate and encourage students to grow and develop through their involvement in student government, its services, and auxiliaries. We promote student engagement in all areas of campus life through leadership, advocacy, and service to build and strengthen our community.
The Office of the Vice President of External Affairs amplifies the voices of UC San Diego Students by providing access to statewide and federal opportunities for civic engagement and community involvement. The Office collaborates with inclusive, diverse on-campus and off-campus partners to inspire emerging student leaders and changemakers, including UC-wide advocacy through the UCSA.
Pay rate: $45/week

Job Description:
- Serve as a helping hand for the Vice President of External Affairs, Director of Staff, and Communications Director
- Assist the Vice President on tasks like research, programming, financial recording, memo writing, and other task
- Assist the Director of Staff in planning conferences, developing leadership development activities, and planning other office events and meetings
- Assist the Communications Director in the development of social media content, the planning of staff outreach events, the preparations of tabling events, and other tasks.
- Lead the oversight of the Triton Advocacy Grant by administrating applications, applicant selection, and facilitating purchases with the Vice President of External Affairs
Job Location:
In-Person (UCSD Main Campus)
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Research and standard data analysis skills.
- Keen sense of design and aesthetics for social media
- Proficiency in Canva
- Event planning experience
- Familiarity with the campus EMS reservations system and TAP..
- Strong understanding of G suite and Microsoft 360
- Solid time management skills.
Hours per week: 10-12 hours a week
Special Conditions of Employment:
- You must plan to be a full-time registered student at UC San Diego for the 2025 - 2026 academic year and be available on campus
