ABOUT ASSOCIATED STUDENTS

The Associated Students of the University of California San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego undergraduate student body. ASUCSD works to promote student engagement through its services and leadership opportunities. We also seek to foster a cohesive community through active interaction and communication with students, the administration, and the greater San Diego Community. ABOUT THE OFFICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AFFAIRS

The Office of Environmental Justice Affairs works to highlight the intersections of environmental and social justice, to ensure assembly and university decisions reflect principles of sustainability, and to advocate for marginalized communities. We are a small, dynamic team with a broad mandate: building platforms for environmental advocacy, aggregating data and resources to promote equity, and strengthening partnerships across campus.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week, 33 weeks

Pay: $60/week

Duties of the Director of Events and Education include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organize, and execute educational programming and events that highlight intersections of environmental and social justice.

  • Coordinate with student orgs, faculty, and community partners to co-host events and broaden reach.

  • Develop educational campaigns (both digital and in-person) that make complex EJ issues accessible and relevant to the undergraduate community.

  • Manage event logistics and serve as the AS representative to the Earth Month Committee.

  • Integrate evaluation metrics (e.g., attendance, engagement surveys, learning outcomes) to improve programming quality and relevance.

  • Ensure inclusivity and equity in all programming, prioritizing voices from marginalized communities.
