KSDT Radio is an independent student-run online radio station based at UCSD. We pride ourselves on our promotion of independent music and in working to help our local musical community. Our community believes in sharing diverse tastes in music and unique perspectives.
Thank you for your interest in the KSDT Audio Engineer position. This is a position that requires an intermediate level of background in audio hardware and software for musical recording, mixing, and mastering, while having good organizational and people skills.
The responsibilities of an Audio Engineer include, but are not limited to, maintaining a well crafted and welcoming internship program that is divided into a novice and advance group, setting up the audio portion of KSDT events, managing a recording studio while working with student and local musicians, managing a practice space for UCSD students, maintaining our physical DJ booth in proper working order, among other responsibilities.
Traits that will be taken into account during the review process:
Level of Proficiency with different DAWs
Familiarity with the main concepts of Recording/Mixing/Mastering
Knowledge of instrumental and audio gear used in broadcasting, recording, and performances
Historical involvement and experiences with musical/artistic communities
Level of Musicianship
The Audio Engineer position requires about 10 hours a week of dedication, 4 hours for both intern meetings, 2 hours for staff meetings, and 4 hours for internship preparation, mixing, and other maintenance of the KSDT studio.
