- Student Health Advocate
The Office of Health & Wellbeing aims to support and foster a student body who is emotionally, physically, and mentally well and thriving. We hope to achieve this through various advocacy, outreach, and initiative efforts based in a holistic health approach that uses intersectional lenses to account for how the diverse aspects of one’s identity impacts overall health. The office will collaborate with varied existing student health admin resources and student campus partners to raise awareness and help expand our scope in impacting student health and overall wellbeing. Broader areas of interest include mental, physical, and sexual health and wellness.
Student health focuses on overall health and wellness therefore the director role would be raising awareness for existing campus resources and initiating more projects. The role requires understanding of UC Ship and other insurance policies. Though general health is intersectional and will see overlap between sexual and mental health, student health will focus more on physical health and preventive safety measures. The advocates will work closely with the director who will seek to guide and foster each individual advocate's passions as well as the entire office’s vision. We are looking for individuals that are very passionate, self driven, have willingness to learn and grow more in event organization and project management for work in student health related areas. Past experience is not required for this role!
- Shall work with Student Health Director and rest of student health team in projects, events, and outreach related work
- Shall attend and assist with all mandatory office meetings and events
- Shall have a progress checks and team meetings with student health director and team.
