Position Description
As the Senior Internal Communications Officer, it will fall under you to oversee the Internal Association Communications Department, or IAC for short. As such, you will supervise staff that will send out the weekly internal Office of Communications newsletter, work on auditing A.S. Communications practices to determine where things can be improved, develop ways to improve the transparency of the Association, work on office projects to streamline A.S. information for its different offices to keep its members up to date on latest policies, while also engaged effectively, and lastly, liaise with A.S. services and commissions to build their brand and image. The IAC is the relations management and organizational branch of the Office of Communications and should support the office by looking at methods to deliver more timely and informational material within the Association and reflect on A.S. communication practices to find more efficient ways to conduct communications. Furthermore, you will spearhead new projects/initiatives tasked by the Chief Communications Officer and also ensure that already existing deliverables (such as the weekly newsletter) are consistently being sent out, while lastly, acting as a sort of bridge to other A.S. services and Auxiliaries to keep the Association more interconnected. Additionally, staying up to date on current A.S. news and procedures is also key to this position, so that your team and yourself can create content that reflects what is occurring within the Association. Lastly, working with other departments is crucial to effectively understand the many moving parts of A.S., which each other department holds a piece of.
