About Associated Students

The Associated Students of the University of California, San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego student body. The ASUCSD works to promote student engagement through its services and leadership opportunities. The ASUCSD seeks to foster a cohesive community through active interaction and communication with students, the administration, and the greater San Diego Community. Our mission is to facilitate and encourage students to grow and develop through their involvement in student government, its services and auxiliaries. We promote student engagement in all areas of campus life through leadership, advocacy, and service in order to build and strengthen our community.

About the Office of EDI 

The Office of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion exists to promote diversity awareness and support historically underrepresented groups on campus. We facilitate discussions on diversity issues, advocate for resource centers' services, support outreach and retention for underrepresented students, maintain collaborative relationships with center directors, and engage in service projects and event coordination with CSI Organizations and the Student Affirmative Action Committee (SAAC) core organizations.

 

Commission Chair Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shall connect with organizations and individuals related to chair position
  • Shall foster collaboration between related organizations and the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Shall report updates on organization goals and initiatives to the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. 
  • Shall put on one event per quarter to highlight position related topics. 
  • Shall have bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with the Director of Internal affairs. 
  • Must attend weekly office meetings. 

(Stipend $55/week x 22 weeks)
