About Associated Students
The Associated Students of the University of California, San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego student body. The ASUCSD works to promote student engagement through its services and leadership opportunities. The ASUCSD seeks to foster a cohesive community through active interaction and communication with students, the administration, and the greater San Diego Community. Our mission is to facilitate and encourage students to grow and develop through their involvement in student government, its services and auxiliaries. What is the Office of Academic Affairs?
The Associated Students Office of Academic Affairs strives to work alongside students to better their academic experiences at UC San Diego. This includes, but is not limited to, representing the student body in Academic Senate and their respective committees, creating projects and events centered around student’s academic needs, and being a resource to link students to their academic divisions.
Director of Programs and Initiatives Roles and Responsibilities

Create events and projects centered around academic retention and community building

Lead in the management of event scheduling and event day coordination

Assist on planning different events such as social events, networking events, educational events, and more organized by the Office of Academic Affairs

Assist in handling administrative work such as completing TAP forms and communicating with vendors for any event hosted by or in partnership with the Office of Academic Affairs

Additional duties as assigned
