About Associated Students

The Associated Students of the University of California, San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego student body. The ASUCSD works to promote student engagement through its services and leadership opportunities. The ASUCSD seeks to foster a cohesive community through active interaction and communication with students, the administration, and the greater San Diego Community. Our mission is to facilitate and encourage students to grow and develop through their involvement in student government, its services and auxiliaries. We promote student engagement in all areas of campus life through leadership, advocacy, and service in order to build and strengthen our community.

What is the Office of Academic Affairs?

The Associated Students Office of Academic Affairs strives to work alongside students to better their academic experiences at UC San Diego. This includes, but is not limited to, representing the student body in Academic Senate and their respective committees, creating projects and events centered around student’s academic needs, and being a resource to link students to their academic divisions.

Director of Advocacy Roles and Responsibilities

  • Shall oversee the advocacy branch within the Office of Academic Affairs

  • Shall be the main point of contact for advocacy efforts and initiatives for the Office of Academic Affairs

  • Shall communicate progress in weekly updates to the Vice President of Academic Affairs 

  • Shall have at least one project or programing centered around academic justice and accommodations at UC San Diego

  • Additional duties as assigned
