What is the Office of the President?

The duties and powers of the President shall be to: a. Serve as the Chief Executive Officer and representative of the ASUCSD. b. Chair the Cabinet, hereinafter referred to as “Cabinet”. c. Oversee the implementation of the advocacy priorities of the ASUCSD, in conjunction with the needs of the student body, and as prescribed by the Senate. d. Be an ex-officio member of all subordinate bodies, excluding the Judicial Board. e. Carry out any other duties as set forth in this Constitution, the By-Laws, or assigned by Senate.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with creating and managing meaningful programs and initiatives for students 

  • Ability to plan, coordinate and execute events and initiatives efficiently while managing multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience leading teams or coordinating with various stakeholders.

  • A strong commitment to understanding and addressing the needs of the student body.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives that address the needs and interests of the student body, aligning with ASUCSD’s goals.
  • Work closely with campus organizations and departments to promote programs and foster partnerships that enhance student engagement.

  • Organize and oversee events, including logistics, marketing, and follow-up evaluation to ensure successful execution and impact.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Media and Outreach to promote programs and initiatives through effective messaging and branding.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Commitment: 

  • Attend 1 hour weekly Office of the President staff meetings (online or in-person based on President's team needs).

  • Attend Office of the President staff bonding which will occur two times throughout the quarter.

  • Attend 30 minute bi-weekly check-ins with President weekly.

  • Be flexible and available to support additional meetings or events as required, including potential evening or weekend commitments related to program execution.
