- A.S. First Year Fellow
A.S. Fellowship Mission:
The A.S. Fellowship aims to help incoming first-year and first-year transfer students cultivate their leadership, professional, and interpersonal skills by participating in campus-wide advocacy and service-oriented efforts. Individuals who engage in this program will gain a comprehensive understanding of the functionality of the A.S. offices, develop the skills necessary to interact with peers and administrators and gain insight into key issues that impact UC San Diego students.
Description Associated Students:
The Associated Students of the University of California, San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego student body. The ASUCSD works to promote student engagement through its services and leadership opportunities. The ASUCSD seeks to foster a cohesive community through active interaction and communication with students, the administration, and the greater San Diego Community. Our mission is to facilitate and encourage students to grow and develop through their involvement in student government, its services, and auxiliaries. We promote student engagement in all areas of campus life through leadership, advocacy, and service to build and strengthen our community.
Fellowship Outcomes:

Students are each placed into an office of Associated Students to participate in for the school year, and given the opportunity to experience student government early on.

Students will develop their professional and communication skills to connect with peers and administrators and articulate their work with A.S.

Students will recognize critical issues impacting the students at UC San Diego, and then produce events, campaigns, and programs to benefit their constituencies.

Students will demonstrate self-awareness and social awareness by actively creating partnerships with diverse populations and utilizing campus resources

Students will learn the duties and structure of A.S.
Responsibilities:

Attend weekly meetings (Date and time to be determined)

Fulfill responsibilities of your assigned office

Fulfill Fellowship Program requirements

Plan two events per year with the cohort
This role has a time commitment of 5 hours a week and does not include a stipend.
